With Paints and Brushes around the World

In January 2023, I moved to India to take up a teaching position at the Samsara Academy of Art in Hyderabad. Immersing myself in India's culture opened a world of new ideas and inspiration. For the first time, I knew exactly what I wanted to say with my art: "Beauty is everywhere, and so is misery. What we choose to see is up to us. If we give ourselves the time to observe and pay attention to our surroundings, we will find it."

I found myself drawn to the quiet beauty in the everyday lives of local people—beauty that often goes unnoticed. Painting these moments became my way of seeing and sharing what others might overlook, capturing scenes that are simple yet full of life and meaning.

I was eager to explore, to venture into unknown places where few foreigners have traveled. I sought out villages that still preserve the culture and traditions of older generations. My goal was to bring art to the most remote corners of the world, using painting as an invitation to deeply engage with and connect to the world around me.

Soon, I realized just how inspiring travel could be. I learnt about different cultures and traditions, I met people with unique perspectives, saw landscapes that took my breath away, and felt emotions I hadn’t experienced before. This pull to explore grew stronger and I went from India to Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
